Facilitate the communication of information between Vessel Operations Management, the Captain/Pilot of the vessel, the Maintenance department representatives, Schedulers, other Sales Department representatives, Customer Dock representatives and third-party providers for services such as shore tankering and spot horsepower. Record events and prepare scheduled reports.

The Supervisor, Tankering Operations provides shift-based operational oversight and support for tankering activities across the Lake Charles, Port Arthur, and Beaumont areas. This position functions as a supporting supervisor, extending operational coverage during assigned duty periods and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient tankering operations. The role serves as an on-shift point of contact for field personnel, vendors, and customers, while coordinating closely with the lead Supervisor, Tankering Operations, who retains final administrative and personnel authority.
The Fleet Utility Worker is responsible for monitoring the barge fleet and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. This position plays a key role in managing fleet activities, coordinating vessel movements, and maintaining the overall security and efficiency of fleet operations.
Cleaning facility PIC performs the tasks associated with ensuring a barge is safe for entry by testing the atmosphere. Once the barge is tested safe by a licensed industrial hygienist the helper will then perform the duties required to strip and clean the barge in order to prepare it for its next cargo per owners’ specifications. The PIC must adhere to Kirby’s training, safety, drug, and security requirements in order to insure safe and efficient working conditions for barge cleaning.
