Facilitate the communication of information between Vessel Operations Management, the Captain/Pilot of the vessel, the Maintenance department representatives, Schedulers, other Sales Department representatives, Customer Dock representatives and third-party providers for services such as shore tankering and spot horsepower. Cleaning facility PIC performs the tasks associated with ensuring a barge is safe for entry by testing the atmosphere. Once the barge is tested safe by a licensed industrial hygienist the helper will then perform the duties required to strip and clean the barge in order to prepare it for its next cargo per owners’ specifications. The PIC must adhere to Kirby’s training, safety, drug, and security requirements in order to insure safe and efficient working conditions for barge cleaning.
